On Friday, April 10th heaven gained an angel. Constance "Connie" Rose Salvino left this earth surrounded by the loves of her life, her children; Michelle (Mike) Pitsenbarger, Pauline Salvino, and Paul Salvino; grandchildren Michael, Mathew, Dominic, Angelo, Francesco, and Carmela. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Christine “Busy”and Joe Donofrio, brothers and sisters-in-law John and Pat Birone, Anthony and Joyce Birone and brother-in-law Patrick Minnitti. Connie was preceded in death by her parents John and Lucy (Polsinelli) Birone and sister Mary Minnitti. Connie's peaceful departure was not a surprise as she was a warrior of stage 4 gallbladder cancer since October 2013. Connie fought her disease no different than she lived her 69 years; with grace, strength, and compassion for others. Connie lived a wealthy life in love and laughter. A full refrigerator, sauce cooking on the stove, and the sounds of her family made her the richest of women. Opening seats at her dinner table for so many people over the years will never be forgotten. Her life was all about the celebration of the little things and never taking special moments for granted. A true class act that her family strives to repeat. A private memorial will be celebrated by her children and grandchildren in Little Italy. For those that would like to pay their respects, her children request that you gather with your family this Sunday and celebrate what matters most, each other. Words can not express the grattude for Dr. Greg Manson, Dr. Norman Rafique, and the tireless nursing staff at Tri-County Oncology, Aultman Hospital and Compassionate Care Center.
