Everett E. Daniels, Jr., age 85 of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2021 surrounded by family. Ev was born June 12, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Helen and Everett Daniels, Sr.
Ev was a 1954 graduate of Edgewood High School in Pittsburgh, where he was celebrated as the Pennsylvania State Track Champion in the 100 yard dash and the 800 meter relay. He graduated with a B.A. from Muskingum University and two Master's Degrees from the University of Akron.
Ev taught at East Liverpool and Lincoln High Schools and served as a school administrator for Canton City Schools until he retired in 1993. He spent many of his teaching years coaching track and football. He even coached track up until the age of 80.
Along with his parents, Ev was preceded in death by his son, Thomas E. Daniels. sister, Lois Jean McGinley, and brother-in-law Chuck McGinley.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susan; children Jessica (Quincy) Cadle of Elmhurst, IL, Deborah (Greg) Mahoney of Alpharetta, GA, and Michael Daniels of Canton. Also survived by his grandchildren Justin and Christine Mahoney, Shelby Daniels, and Drake, Quinn, and Reiss Cadle.
Family and friends will be received at Christ the Servant Parish on Monday, October 18th from 9 to 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m., with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano as celebrant. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ the Servant Parish Endowment Fund.
