Frank Meeker Obituary

Frank H. Meeker ,age 74 of Louisville, passed away Sunday evening. He was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Raymond and Elsie Meeker. He is survived by his wife Vivian of 54 years Vivian (Ray) Meeker, daughter Tina (Tim) Miller, grandchildren Timmy Miller Jr. and Faith Miller, sister Marilyn (Jerry) Bernstein, and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was very active and involved in several areas of his life. Growing up he loved to work on the farm. Baling hay, riding tractors, and loved his cow Bessie Jane. He later joined the Canton Fire Dept. as a volunteer. He later became a member of the Canton Auxiliary Police Dept for 48 years. He was the longest serving member and honored for it. He was dedicated to the department. He was also on the Jackson Police Dept. and East Canton Police Dept, He was the Chaplin on the Alliance Police Dept for several years. He and his daughter ,Tina, for over 20 years volunteered their time to help kids "Shop with a Cop". He was a Road driver for 30 years, pulling triples in the winter. Bless your heart dad, for that. He finally retired from the City of Canton. He loved to raise German shepherd puppies. Several became police dogs. He loved the outdoors. It was hard to get him inside at night. The huge gardens he would plant and harvest to give away. The love of working on his tractors brought such joy. He loved driving to Amish country and returning home to his Amish swiss cheese and cold beer. The shopping sprees from Black Friday to City wide garage sales brought so much delight. You accomplished many great things. We are not saying good-bye, we will all be together again. You now are brand new, you are whole again. I want to send a very special "Thank you", to my cousin David Pelfrey Jr. for helping me. My heartfelt gratitude beyond words. Services will be Monday April 5th from 11:00-1:00 at Rossi Family Funeral Home in Canton , Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Louisville.
