Hilde B. Denman, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. She was born in Rottenburg, Germany on February 26, 1927 to the late Alfons and Maria Steigerwald. In Germany, Hilde studied to become a seamstress; she utilized those skills her entire life, as she was knitting and sewing hats for the homeless up to turning 93 years old.
Hilde was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church in Richfield, St. Paul Parish in Canton, and Christ the Servant Parish. Her whole life was surrounded by the church and her faith. She was also a member of the German-American Club.
Along with her parents, Hilde was preceded in death by her husband Charles Denman; son Nicholas Denman; son-in-law David Brand; and sister and brother-in-law Helga and Willie Schwind. She is survived by her children Roy Denman, Linda Brand (Fletcher Ramey), Ernie Denman, and June (Bart) Bargides; five grandchildren Rob (April) Boudreau, Tony (Stephanie) Bargides, Joe (Tiffany) Brand, Andrew (Lacy) Bargides, Alicia (Zach) Bargides. Also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother Helmar (Johanna) Steigerwald; and many nieces and nephews in Germany.
Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 11 a.m., with Msgr. Lew Gaetano as celebrant. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
