James W. Scheetz age 72 of Canton, passed away Saturday afternoon. Born in Canton to the late Joseph S. and Dorothy (Kintz) Scheetz, he was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Ann and Catherine R. Scheetz, brother William P. Scheetz and nephew Ti Scheetz. He was graduate of Timken Vocational High School. James retired from the Hoover Company after 32 years of service. He was involved with the Knight of Columbus, Eagles, Orioles Nest, and the Hob Nob. James is survived by his wife of 23 years Sophie (Kreareas) Scheetz, his children Stacy (B.J.) Knisely, James W. Scheetz II, step-son Nicholas (Jeannette) Hendrickson, granddaughters Lillian Scheetz, Chelsea (Trey Musgrave) Knisely, step-grandchildren Quentin, Jaylynn, Myles, and Hayze Hendrickson, siblings John A. Scheetz (former wife Nancy O'Hara), Edward J. (Sandy) Scheetz, Joseph F. (Connie) Scheetz, Thomas I. (Patricia) Scheetz, Frances R. (Joanne Kracker) Scheetz, Jean M. Lung, Michael G. (Beth Butler) Scheetz, sister-in-law Teresa Scheetz, 20 nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 4th from 5 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 10:00 am, with the Very Reverend John E. Sheridan STL celebrant. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to LaPizzaria immediately following the burial.
