James “Jimmy” W. Wilson, age 71 of Canton, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021. He was born in Miami, Florida on October 21, 1949 to the late Warren Wilson and Nalda Marquardt. Jimmy was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School; he later became a self-employed carpenter for many years up until he began to work for the Hoover Company, retiring in 2008. Jimmy was an animal lover who had many hobbies including fishing, golfing, and jet skiing.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of forty years, Cindy of Canton; step-father Robert Marquardt, Sr. of North Canton; siblings Bob (Brenda) Marquardt of Louisville, Ron (Debbie) Marquardt of North Canton, and Patricia (David) Zell of Hollywood, Florida. He was also survived by nieces Amanda (Clint) Butler and Sherri Apakian; nephews Bobby Marquardt and Steve Zell; great-niece Kaylyn Butler; and special cousins Bill, Ethel, and Alice.
Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 12 noon, with Jeff Deem officiating. Interment will follow to Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations, in Jimmy's name, may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
