Janet M. (Zimmerman) Fink, 91, peacefully entered the embrace of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 1st. Born on June 3, 1932, in Wellington, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of the late Murice and Laura Zimmerman. Janet attended Hiram College and resided in Hiram for a significant portion of her life. She dedicated herself to educating young minds as an elementary school teacher at Hiram Elementary School. A former member of the Welshfield Christian Church, Janet and her husband Roger relocated to Louisville in 2002, where they became active members of the Louisville Church of Christ.
Janet's life was marked by her unwavering faith in Christ and her selfless devotion to others. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her beloved family. Fondly reminiscing about her childhood on the family farm in Penfield, she often shared stories of those formative years. Janet found joy in activities such as journaling, crafting, baking, and serving her community through volunteering.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Roger, in 2019, and her brother Jack Zimmerman. Left to cherish her memory are her son Larry (Carol) Fink and Brian (Debbie) Fink, along with her five grandchildren: Stefanie (Mark) Martin, Ryan (Kari) Fink, Adam (Julie) Fink, Joshua (Nina) Fink, and Kyle (Courtney) Fink. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren: Max and Sammy Martin, Henry, Theo, Asher, Luke, Ariel, Aurora, and Mira Fink. Surviving her as well are her sister, Jane (Forrest) Burt, a niece and nephews, and her dear friend Kathie Havener, who shared over 50 years of friendship with Janet.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 16th at 1:00 pm at the Louisville Church of Christ Outreach Center, 1520 California Ave., Louisville, Ohio.
“She fought the good fight, she kept the faith, she won the race.”
