Janet D. (Newton) Tate

Janet Diane Tate went home to the welcoming arms of her Lord on Thursday February 16th, 2023 after a lengthy illness. Janet was born in Canton Ohio February 6, 1940 to the late David Newton and mother Ina June (Newton) Cady who proceeded her in death. Janet is Survived by her Husband and Soul Mate Thomas Tate whom she would have celebrated fifty-five years of marriage to next month. Janet's Brother-in-law Larry Tate and his wife Kathy of Michigan also survive. Janet is also survived by her five children Sam Ciatu of Laguna Beach Ca. Holly Stockon and her Spouse Julie Schick of Bothell WA. William Torok of Canton, Diana Tate of Canton, Tom Tate and his spouse Kevin Kassab of State College Pa. Janet’s son-in-law Kevin was one of Janet’s caregivers while staying for a time with them in Pa. and she adored him. Janet is also survived by three Grandchildren, Ashley Ciatu of Malibu Ca. David Tate of Canton and Bridgette (Jermaine Hamlet) of Canton. Great Grandchildren Cambri Hamlet, Dominic Tate, and Case Hamlet all of Canton. Janet has also had many people throughout her life that called her Mom or Grandma. Diana Tate and Bridgette Tate were also amazing caregivers to Janet until the very end. Janet is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Her Great Granddaughter Cambri loved to read stories to her Ya-ya before bed, telling her the last just moments before Janet’s passing. You are Our Angel in Heaven now. Janet was a huge Lover of animals and we are sure that watching over them in Heaven is most definitely her job. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 7 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home with services to follow at 7:00 pm, Rev. Gary Smith officiating.
