John Marinucci, age 66, of Canton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
Born in Canton, Ohio to the late Ettore and Emma (nee Campomizzi) Marinucci.
John was a 1973 graduate of Malvern High School. He served many years as the President of the United Steelworker’s Union Local #1124. John retired from Republic Steel/LTV after 42 years of service.
He was an avid coin collector and loved corvettes, owning several of them throughout his life. John enjoyed playing poker, especially at family gatherings. He was a true family man and was very proud of his Italian heritage. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
John is survived by his dear children, Eric (Angela) Marinucci, Nicole (Clay) Long; cherished grandsons, Logan Mugford, Nico Marinucci; siblings, Aldo (Penny) Marinucci, Maria Marinucci, Nancy Newman, Gloria Slentz; sister-in-law, Sherry Marinucci, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Marinucci, in 2018.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rossi Family Funeral Home, 730 30th Street, Canton, Ohio 44709. Graveside services will take place on Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Francis Cemetery in Malvern at 1:00 p.m. Fr. Vic Cinson, will officiate.
