John Carl Russo

JOHN CARL RUSSO Age 70, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Born in Canton, Ohio, a son of the late Carl J. and Dorothy (Meola) Russo. John was a 1970 graduate of Glenwood High School, and a 1975 graduate of Kent State University. He devoted his life to running his crew for the family cement business, Russo Concrete. John was a loyal fan of the Raiders NFL team. He had an innate ability to make people laugh, with his extraordinary sense of humor. Everyone loved Uncle Johnny, and he will be greatly missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Russo. Survived by his siblings: Vince and Kathy Russo, Diana and Gerard Berry, Bill Russo, Leo Russo and Stephanie Condric, Ginny and George Liebermann, Dan and Rose Russo, Fran and Tim Mastroine, Tim and Holly Russo; 28 nephews and nieces; numerous great nephews and nieces; aunt, Antoinette (Meola) Siber; aunt, Irene Ross; and many cousins. Also, his animal friends: Riley the cat and Milky Way the dog. John’s family would like to take this opportunity to say how grateful and thankful we are to Rose, Dan and their family for taking John into their home. A very special thank you to our nephew, Rocco. John would say “Everybody needs a Rocco,” to which Rocco was a blessing to John. We truly appreciate niece, Laura, for always checking in with John. Also, thanks to Vince, Kathy and Kevin for assisting with John’s house and cats. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in John’s name to Aultman Hospice, a local animal shelter, or attend St. Anthony’s Day in June. (John always enjoyed the celebration.) Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home, located at 730 30th St. NW, Canton, OH, on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 11AM – 1PM. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 1PM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
