Judith L. (Zirpolo) Monnot

February 29, 1944 ~ September 11, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Judith L. (Zirpolo) Monnot, age 79, a beloved resident of North Canton, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 11th. She was born in Canton to the late Michael P. Zirpolo, Sr. and Patricia E. Chirumbolo. Sadly, she was also preceded in death by her loving son, David Michael Monnot.

Judy's journey through life was marked by academic achievements. She was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School and Walsh University, where she undoubtedly left an indelible mark. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, as she was an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

Judy's legacy lives on through the cherished family she leaves behind. She was the devoted wife of David C. Monnot for an impressive 57 years. Together, they created a loving family with daughters Noelle Heinze, Adrienne Zimmerman, and daughter-in-law Tonya Monnot. Her seven grandchildren, Madeleine Monnot, David Monnot III, Lillian Heinze, Charles, Guinevere, Grayson, and Liam Oliver, brought boundless joy to her life. Judy's brother, Michael P. Zirpolo, Jr., also held a special place in her heart.

Beyond her immediate family, Judy played instrumental roles in the lives of Jonathan Heinze and Elizabeth (Heinze) Blythe, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Judy had a passion for travel that spanned the globe, including some of her favorite visits to London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, and many other places around the world. Her adventurous spirit knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment of her explorations, savoring the beauty and culture of each place.

An avid fan of the stage, Judy delighted in visiting London's West End, Cleveland's theater district, and made many trips to Broadway, where she enjoyed both dramas and musicals, including the timeless "Phantom of the Opera." Her passion for the theater was as boundless as her love for travel.

Judy made her mark and achieved many things in her 79 years. She was not only the best 6th-grade teacher in her younger years but also a remarkable leader in the community. During her tenure as President of the Garden Center in Canton, she also wrote a garden column for the Canton Repository. Her expertise and insights were eagerly awaited by readers.

Her dedication extended to the national stage, where she sat on the board of National Garden Clubs Inc. and the Garden Club of Ohio. She also held the prestigious position of State Flower Show School Chairman.

Judy revived and led a design study group called "Avant-Garde" and presented several programs to the public in floral design. Her expertise led her to become a National Garden Clubs instructor, a distinction held by only two individuals in Ohio. She taught courses and symposiums across several states, leaving a lasting impact on countless budding horticulturists.

Judith L. Monnot's memory will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her. Her kindness, faith, and unwavering love will be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy of adventure, creativity, and boundless love that she nurtured throughout her rich and fulfilling life.
