Louis Anthony Sucheck, 99, of Canton, Ohio died peacefully on April 23rd , 2020 at his daughter’s home.
Due to COVID-19, a private family service will be held at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Canton, Ohio on Friday May 1, 2020. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon, Ohio.
Louis was born April 7th, 1921 in Johnstown, PA, son of the late Gregory and Mary Ann (Chrapkiewicz) Szewczyk. Louis was a US Navy Pilot and retired as a Commander after 30 years of service. Later he worked as a supervisor for Timken Roller Bearing Company in Canton. He is remembered for his faith, hard work, gardening, and service to others and country. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who loved his kids and grandkids. Lou was a member of St. Michael the Archangel and All Saints Catholic Church, Polish National Alliance, and the American Legion in Canton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife for 71 years, Helen Sucheck; siblings, Helen Blasic, Joseph Sucheck, Michael Seftick, Angela Kush, and George Seftick. He is survived by his children Richard (Claudia) Sucheck and Janet (John) Gerwig and grandchildren Alexander, Jacqueline, Brian, Mark, and Allison.
