Luna F. (Carosello) Amato

LUNA F. (CAROSELLO) AMATO, age 100, passed away early Monday at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Middlebranch, Ohio to the late John and Lucia (Marrinacci) Carosello she was preceded in death by her husband John Amato in 1987, sisters Carmella Pastore-DeGiralomo, Rose Grinaldi, Mary McGill and brothers Michael and Dominic Carosello. Living most of her life in Middlebranch, Luna was a member of Little Flower Catholic Parish and the Alter-Rosary Society. After moving to Canton she joined St. Peter Catholic Parish and was a member of the St. Peter's Womens Guild, the Columbus Womens' Club and the Catholic Golden Agers. The last 6 years she was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Parish in Green. Luna maintained many old friendships and had developed many new ones at the Greenview Inn, her residence for the past 6 years. She was retried from Walsh University. She is survived by her children; John Jr. and Wanda Amato of North Canton, Mary and Richard Kilgore of Carrollton, TX, Nancy and Larry Winkler of Green, David and Christina Amato of Bolivar, Richard and Nancy Amato of Plano, TX, Stephen and Mary Amato of Canton, 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Parish. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Queen of Heaven Catholic Parish, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown, Ohio 44685.
