Mary (Hilaneh) Michael

Mary H. Michael, age 82 of Canton, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017. She was born on March 15, 1935 in Hena, Syria to the late Noaim and Jedda (Shaheen) Hilaneh. Mary was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church since 1960, where she belonged to the Ladies Society. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Moses Michael. She is survived by her children Kathryn (Robert Snyder) Michael, Karen (Steven) Davis and Joseph (Summer) Michael; eight grandchildren Hannah, Hudson and Hayden Davis, Lydia Boyce, Moses, Natalie, Jon and Grace Michael. Also survived by her brother Elias (Jamileh) Hilaneh, and numerous niece and nephews. Special thanks to niece Mary Hilaneh who made herself available to provide transportation to attend church, and to run errands. Family and friends will be received Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home, with Trisagion services at 7:30 p.m. Another hour of visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., with Very Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin officiating, assisted by Rev. Fr. Youhanna Al-Assaf and Rev. Fr. Basil Shaheen. Entombment will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church (1118 Cherry Ave. N.E. Canton, OH 44704).
