Known for her kindness, graciousness, generosity and ready laugh, Myrna leaves behind beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and host of close friends, including Ruth Gingrich, who was her loving caregiver of many years.
Born on January 20, 1934 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, she moved to Canton, Ohio when she was 16-years old. She graduated from Middlebranch High School, where she met and married her beloved husband Tony “Teense” Pastore, building truly a fairy tale life of love.
An enormously generous woman, Myrna was an impactful force for many charitable organizations, focusing on battered women, children in need and elder care. The JRC Meyers Lake campus was recently renamed the Myrna A. Pastore Campus, honoring her philanthropic efforts for the Canton community.
Myrna resided both in Canton and Catawba Island, Ohio. A private Mass will be held in the Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Canton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family suggests a donation be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
