Nahie Shaheen passed away peacefully July 24, 2021 on the Feast Day of St. Olga, Equal to the Apostles which was so fitting as she was a loyal daughter of the Holy Orthodox Church. She her lived her life with piety and ascetic virtue and completely devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary. She was born in Quinitra, Syria to the late Alexander and Neffagie Ammar Shaheen. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Soraya(Elias) Alzught, Shafeek, Toufeek and Julia(Nicholas H) Shaheen and her beloved nephews, Alex Shaheen, Hafiz Alzught, Halim Alzught, George Mitri and Nicholas H. Shaheen Jr. She is survived by sister-in-laws Marie Shaheen in Canton, Ohio and Wedad Shaheen of Pembroke Pines, Florida. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces in America, Lebanon, Russia, and Syria. We are thankful for the prayers from Very Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin and the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. We are forever grateful to her nephew, Henri and Mary Alzught for their loving care and compassion for our Aunt Nahie. And a special thank you to the staff of the Laurels of Massillon, Oh and Crossroads Hospice for her care. Family and friends will be received at St George Antiochian Orthodox Church on Thursday from 10 to 11am. Funeral services will follow, with Very Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
