Naomi Swiner Obituary

We are sad to announce that our loving mother, Naomi Swiner, passed away on Sunday,12 January surrounded by family that loved her. She was 92 years old, having been born June 28th, 1927 in Galloway, WV. She was the first born of Harry and Dorothea Garvin. She was married to Leon Swiner, who passed away in 2009. She has two daughters, Linda Miller and Catherine Carver (Larry) and had 6 grandchildren, one, Matthew who passed away in 1997. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was an original charter member of the Alliance Ward congregation over 70 years ago. She was a longtime resident of Deerfield and spent her final years living in Alliance. She managed the L&K restaurant for many years before retiring. She loved being with her family and was the “Mother Hen” that loved and worried about us. In her final days she was being attended at the House of Loreto in Canton, Ohio and we sincerely would like to thank the nuns and staff for their love, concern, and spirituality with her before she passed away. She is proceeded in death by her husband Leon Swiner, her beloved brother Talmadge Garvin and Beulah Garvin(sister in law). She is survived by her sister Jean Moore (Walter, brother in law deceased). Also, baby brother Jerry Garvin (Judy). Plus many nieces and nephews she loved very much. The grandchildren are Michele and Rimon Daoud (Matthew & Machenzie), Michael and Karen Orlando (Emily, Megan, & Ammon), Annette and Joe Astin (Dallin, Grayson, Nathan, Erin, & Benjamin), Deborah Ochsenbine (James, Susan, Sarah, & Olivia), and Phillip Orlando.
