Olga Giustino Obituary

Olga (Papatheodorou) Giustino, surrounded by loving family and friends, crossed over into the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Olga was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothea and George Papatheodorou; her sister and brother, Mary Papatheodorou Imely and Harry Papatheodorou; and granddaughter Dorothea Prendes.

Olga was born in Atsiholos, Greece on December 11, 1946, and immigrated to the United States with her parents in 1947, residing in the northeast end of Canton. She graduated from Timken High in 1964 and attended classes at Kent Stark. In her early years, Olga worked at Mergus Restaurant, Peters Candy and Harter Bank. After her adoring children Sara and Katie were born, Olga distinguished herself as a national sales leader for Arbonne International, establishing their first eastern US office. In 1995, she married the love of her life, Michael Giustino.

Olga had an endless passion and zest for all aspects of life. She loved her family, friends and her church. Olga was a trendsetter, in both fashion and art, falling in love with Southwest and Spanish art and architecture. The home she and Michael built and shared for numerous years with their children, grandchildren, family and friends, is a living testimony to the keen eye she had for decorating and design. Olga’s pioneering creativity was interwoven into every aspect of her life.

Olga will be eternally remembered for her giving, warm and generous heart; the sheer joy of gathering family and friends for any and all occasions at her home; the love for her church and community; and how her indomitable spirit and faith persevered as she bravely fought the battle with a long-term illness. Even in her waning days, Olga concerned herself more with others, charming everyone to the end, with a warm and loving smile and a twinkle in her eye.

Olga is survived by her husband Michael Giustino; her daughter Sara Brown, husband Justin and grandchildren Sophia and George; daughter Kate Prendes and husband Matt and children Theodore and Collette; her stepdaughter, Maria Lepore, husband Jeff and grandchildren Anna and Tess; stepson Joe Giustino and grandchildren Alexis and Grace; and stepdaughter Tina Delligatti, husband Mike and grandchildren Samantha, Shelby and Dominic; sister-in-law, Chris Marulli Papatheodorou and her children Matthew Papatheodorou and Kara Innes and their spouses and children; brother-in-law, Larry Imely and his daughter, Laura Dover and her spouse and children. She is also survived by numerous cousins and close friends who were as close as family members.

Olga will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will live in their hearts forever. Family and friends can pay their respects on Friday, March 9th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home, with the Trisagion service at 5:30 p.m. Family and friends may also pay their respects from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday, March 10th, with a service beginning at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery immediately after. While Olga loved beautiful flowers, in lieu of them, donations can be made to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church.
