Paul R. Bailey, Sr.

Paul Bailey, Sr., age 72 of Canton, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Canton to the late Clarence and Pearl (Harper) Bailey, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Natalie, brother William, and sister Betty Cowles.

Paul was a 1967 graduate of Timken Vocational High School and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Parish. He retired from Dominion East Ohio Gas Company after 37 and a half years of service. Paul was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed going to breakfast with friends and family. He was quick with a joke, like the one about the three strings or the John Wayne toilet paper, and quicker with a smile. Paul was always willing to help and would expect nothing in return. He was the go-to guy when you needed to know how to fix something or he knew who to call if he didn’t. He seemed to know someone wherever he went.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Renee' (Saracina) Bailey, children Paul, Jr. (Tina) Bailey, Elizabeth Dolly, Benjamin (Kelly) Bailey, Joseph (Adrian) Bailey, Elliot Bailey, 14 grandchildren; Allison, Grace, Simon, and Andrew Bailey, Vincent, Cadence, Natalie, and Riley Dolly, James, George, and Evelyn Bailey, Jacob, Henry, and Cody Bailey, brothers Robert Bailey, John Bailey, sisters Ruth Ann (Larry) Dancy, Naomi (Richard) McCully, and numerous nieces and nephews.
