Paul V. Stevens age 92 of Canton, passed away Monday afternoon, July 25, 2022. He was a wonderful, kind husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, and will be missed by everyone lucky enough to know him. Born in Canton to the late Leonard and Adeline (DiBattista) Stevens, he was preceded in death by his brothers Carmine, Orlando, Anthony, Louis, Robert, Phillip, and sister Anna Cooper. Paul was a 1948 graduate of Timken Vocational High School where he excelled in baseball. An avid fast pitch softball player, bowler, golfer, cook, and gardener, Paul was inducted into the Fast Pitch Amateur Hall of Fame. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish of Canton and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was retired from Frito Lay after 30 years of service. Paul is survived by his wife of 56 years Helen (Bednarz) Stevens, sons Gary (Maryanne) Gatts, George (Sheila) Gatts, grandchildren Audra (Katie) Winterbottom, Geoffrey (Jessica) Gatts, and six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home with services to follow at 1:00 pm, Rev. Fr. Benson Okpara officiating. Entombment will be in Northlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Paul's name may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
