Richard "Rick" M. Kuty, Jr.

Richard Matthew Kuty, Jr., age 51, of North Canton, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Rick was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Richard and Barbara Kuty. He was a proud graduate of Bowling Green State University and was employed by Abbott Laboratories as a clinical manager.

Rick was preceded in death by his infant son Nathan Michael Kuty and father Richard Matthew Kuty, Sr. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where his family is very involved in the life of the church and youth activities. Rick is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 25 years, Diana (Fortune) Kuty, beloved children Megan, Alex, and Nico, mother Barbara (Clark) Kuty, sister Heather (Andy) Hetchler, brother Rob (Alexandra) Kuty, in-laws Jerry and Tina Fortune, and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved spending time with and was very proud of each one of them.

Rick’s sense of humor was unmatched. He loved reminiscing, telling stories and having laughs with family and friends. His quick wit would always get a laugh. Rick’s children were his greatest accomplishment and his pride and joy. Nothing made him happier than watching them do what they love and celebrating their accomplishments at school, on a basketball court, on a baseball field, on a football field or at a GOYA basketball tournament. His love for them is eternal and he will be by their side forever.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. George Byzantine Catholic Cathedral (1121 44th St. N.E., Canton, OH 44714) with Divine Liturgy to start at 11:00 a.m., Father Mykhaylo Farynets officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Following the cemetery, family and friends are welcome to join us for a mercy meal at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (4705 Fairhaven Ave. NW, Canton OH 44709). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity GOYA.
