Robert “Bob” L. Scipione, age 88 of Canton, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021 after an extended illness. He was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on July 27, 1932 to the late Scipio James and Mary (DiBattista) Scipione. Bob was a graduate of Timken Vocational High School, and after proudly served in the U.S. Army. He later received his Master's Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Bob utilized his artistic skills in various jobs throughout his life, including designing the 1972 Professional Football Hall of Fame logo; he worked for Consolidated Arts of Canton, and retired from Covey & Koons, where he worked as a commercial and graphic designer. Not only was Bob a fantastic artist, but he also enjoyed golfing, history, and astronomy.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Scipione; sister and brother-in-law Dora (Anthony) Flout; and five brothers and sisters-in-law Harold (Nellie) Scipione, Roger (Elizabeth) Scipione, Louis (Ginny) Scipione, Danny (Genevieve) Scipione, and Jimmy Scipione.
Bob is survived by his daughters Lisa (Sean) Scipione-Toy of Canton, and Karen Scipione-Gray of Mason, Ohio; granddaughter Sofia Scipione-Gray; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Thursday from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
