Svetlana Ter-Simonyan, age 68 of North Canton, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. She was Armenian Orthodox, born in Tblisi, Georgia on December 4, 1952 to the late Suren Avestisova and Eliko Muradova. Svetlana retired in her home country of Georgia, where she worked as a Vice-Principal in the city school district. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, whom raised her from the time she was 6 years old, Tsovigh Avetisova. Svetlana is survived by her children Erik Ter-Simonyan and Ellena (Rudolf) Ambartsumian; grandchildren Svetlana, Ellena, and Anastasia Ter-Simonyan, and Maria, Asti (Ben Taylor), and Alex Ambartsumian. Also survived by her two brothers in Georgia. Svetlana was a wonderful mother and a grandmother. She lived for her children and grandchildren and was a caretaker of not only her family but also her entire community. She was respected and loved by all. Calling hours will be held at Rossi Family Funeral Home on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 9:30 am to 10:30 am. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 in North Canton Cemetery at 11 a.m. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the family home in North Canton following the graveside service.
