William Bentler, Jr. Obituary

William “Bill” C. Bentler, Jr., age 83 of Canton, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Altercare of Navarre. Bill was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 10, 1938 to the late William, Sr. and Lavern Bentler. He was a graduate of Cleveland St. Ignatius High School and the University of Dayton. He retired as Vice President of Field Operations and Installations from Diebold. Bill was a member of St. Michael the Arc Angel Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed helping with the Canton Literacy Program and the H.O.F. Festival.

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his infant son Ignatius, and sister Joann Zofcin. Bill is survived by his former spouse Barbara (Buerman) Bentler of Canton; children Bill (Barb) Bentler of North Canton, Bob Bentler (Kate Riccardi), Maribeth Bentler of Columbus, and Becky (Steve) Wallace of Ocala, Florida. Also survived by grandchildren Melissa (Nate) Sutton, Colleen Bentler, Tiffany Bentler, and Edward Bentler; and sisters Donna (Tony) Levan of Dayton, and Charlene (Jim) Yuschak of Port Clinton.

Private funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ignatius High School or the Knights of Columbus.
