William R. Foster, age 82 of Canton passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. He was born in Canton on December 19, 1939 to the late Alonzo and Opal Foster. Bill was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School, and after attended Akron Barber School. He was self- employed barber at the Mellett Mall Barber Shop and the Myer's Lake Barber Shop, retiring after 54 years.
Bill was a member of many organizations including the American Legion Post #44, Canton Elks, Moose Lodge #33, and the Canton McKinley Booster Club. He was the past President of the Centurion Marching Troop and also loved the McKinley Bulldogs.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ila, granddaughter Courtney, brother Robert Foster, and sister Janice Cosgrove. Bill is survived by his children Tammy (Russ) Phillips, Jr. of Louisville, Kim (Rob) Feielin of Canton, and Julie (John) Villilo of Akron; six grandchildren Rusty, Danny, Wade, Paige, Matt and Jamie; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Laura Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Private family funeral services will follow. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PSI Foundation (www.psifoundation.org), whom assists families with expensive chronic diseases.
